An hour and a half into her high school reunion weekend, Lynne Carpenter is considering going home when popular swimmer Whit Sorensen begins to flirt with her. Thirty-five years, two marriages, and several career shifts after high school, Lynne hasn’t come to her reunion expecting romantic sparks. In fact, she’s not really sure why she’s there. In high school she was a wallflower behind the yearbook camera with just a few friends and hidden ambitions. Her initial impression is that her classmates, who didn’t have much time for her in high school, haven’t changed all that much.

Whit’s attention isn’t the only surprise of the weekend. As the events of the reunion heat up, Lynne finds herself at the center of the action. Astonishing even mean girl Donna, Lynne can’t quite believe her own behavior. But just as she’s forging new connections with the spectacular, funny Barbara and exploring Whit’s charms, Lynne’s past crashes the party with an elegant Italian accent.

is the story of a woman perched on the edge of her soon-to-be empty nest. Should she spread her own wings and fly? To do so Lynne must figure out what to do when it turns out that her past is a lie, her present is coming undone, and her future is full of uncertainty. In the days following the reunion, Lynne learns to count on new friends and let go of old stories. Surprising herself, Lynne’s search for answers will raise more questions, take her far from home, and ultimately reveal just what and who are truly important.
